A little about me

My name is Sofia Abdullina, and I am a recent graduate from Syracuse University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.

 

 I discovered my passion for political journalism in August 2024, when I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend and report on the Democratic National Convention. This experience taught me the importance of time management, communication skills, and stepping out of my comfort zone. I interviewed public figures and wrote articles on a tight deadline, which made me grow as a journalist and a young person.  

 

 The experiences that I have gained at SU have taught me how to report fairly, write ethically, and always be open minded. I intend to incorporate my journalistic ethics into my career as a reporter, as well as strive to learn from professionals in the field.
